TrustCB B.V. is designated by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs as certifying body of qualified means for creating electronic signatures and seals, as referred to in Article 30 of REGULATION (EU) No 910/2014 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 23 July 2014 on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market and repealing Directive 1999/93/EC (the eIDAS Regulation).

The scheme process for eIDAS evaluations and certifications in The Netherlands is the Dutch Conformity Assessment Process (DCAP). eIDAS applications to TrustCB are expected to be made in association with a Common Criteria based certification; for example NSCIB or EUCC.

In May 2024, eIDAS 2.0 entered into force as the EU Digital Identity Framework Regulation (EU) 2024/1183 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 April 2024. This regulation included a number of amendments to Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 as regards establishing the European Digital Identity Framework.
